Ms Alison Gaines, Global Practice Leader, Board Consulting, Gerard Daniels

Alison Gaines leads the Board Consulting practice, bringing to it her considerable practical experience of governance, research and consulting skills as well as broad networks nationally and internationally.

Alison has extensive non-executive director and director experience. She has been a non-executive director of a company, university, superannuation fund, public sector and industry boards and professional associations, with board experience accumulated over nearly 20 years in Australia and internationally. She was a member of the Murdoch University Senate from 1999 - 2008 and its Deputy Chancellor from 2006 - 2008. Alison is also Chairman of a private company as well as a Company Director.

Alison was Chief Executive Officer of the Law Society of Western Australia for nine years and in that role was responsible for a charity and insurance mutual. She was a Director in the Public Sector Management Office, responsible for strategic human resource policy, executive remuneration and government boards and committees.

In 2000, Alison was a State Finalist for the Telstra Business Women's Award; in April 2008, she participated in the "Australia 2020 Summit" in Canberra, and in May 2008; she was awarded the ListInspire Professional Woman Award.
