Guy Chalkley, Managing Director of Western Power, has been appointed as Chair of the Board of Leadership WA. He replaces Michael McNulty, Office Managing Partner WA, Deloitte Australia, who has served on the Board since 2014.

Dominique Mecoy, CEO Leadership WA, said: “On behalf of Leadership WA staff and our Alumni, I am delighted to welcome Guy to the Board. I am greatly looking forward to working with Guy and the rest of the Board as we continue to deliver excellence in Western Australian leadership development.”

In addition to his new role as Chair of the Leadership WA Board, Guy is the Managing Director of Western Power. He commenced at Western Power in December 2011 as Operations Commercial Manager and was later appointed Head of Business Planning and Reporting before joining the Executive Management Team as Chief Financial Officer in February 2015. He was appointed Chief Executive Officer in July 2016.

He is also a Leadership WA 2013 Signature Program Alumni, a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants. Through his roles, he brings to the Leadership WA Board a wealth of international, financial and operational experience across a diverse range of sectors operating and residing in a number of continents including Asia, Africa, Europe, North and South America, and Australia.

“It is a real privilege and honour to accept the Chair of Leadership WA, albeit with some trepidation following the achievements of Michael in the role,” said Mr Chalkley.

“Leadership WA will always have a special place for me as they provided me with the opportunity as a freshly arrived South Londoner to understand the WA challenges whilst meeting many fantastic people and understanding their stories.”

Mr Chalkley said he is looking forward to leading the next chapter of the Leadership WA success story as it continues to develop the full potential of the talented people of Western Australia in shaping our future leaders.

Leadership WA is an independent, not-for-profit organisation that runs leadership development programs for participants from the corporate, not-for-profit and government sectors in a collaborative environment to inspire and enhance exemplary leadership.

Outgoing-Chair Michael McNulty joined the Leadership WA Board in 2014 and became chair in 2015. He is a graduate of the 2006 Signature Leadership Program. Michael has 20 years of consulting experience with a particular focus on Mining and Oil & Gas. Michael leads this multi-disciplinary practice which consists of over 150 consultants spanning Strategy and Operations, Human Capital, Enterprise Information Management and Technology Advisory.
