Scholarships

At Leadership WA we recognise everyone may not have the financial means to participate in our Programs and Courses. We offer a range of scholarships through the Leadership WA Foundation, and in partnership with external organisations. For a list of our current scholarships, see below.

Please note that candidates who work in government or for government agencies or associated departments are ineligible for Leadership WA scholarships. Please liaise directly with your Organisational Development/HR team to ask if internal/departmental-funded places are available for Leadership WA Programs.

Leadership WA Foundation Scholarships

Leadership WA have a limited number of scholarships available for those working in small-medium* not-for-profits (or suitable small businesses or sole traders) wishing to participate in our Programs and Courses. These scholarships cover the Organisation Fee only. The Personal Fee and any travel and accommodation will be the responsibility of the participant.  If you would like to apply for one, you can elect to do so in your application for either the Signature Leadership Program or the Rising Leadership Program.

*for the purpose of this scholarship, small-medium NFPs are those with an annual income of $20 million or less.

Leadership WA LeadAbility Scholarships

Leadership WA have a limited number of scholarships available for people with lived experience of disability, or those who work in the sector, wishing to participate in our Programs and Courses. If you would like to apply for one, you can select to do so in your application for the Signature Leadership Program or the Rising Leadership Program.

Limited scholarship places are also available for the Aspiring Leadership Course, for participants who have a disability or lived experience. In addition, those working in or advocating for the sector will also be considered and are invited to consider applying.

The LeadAbility Course is fully funded and all successful applicants are awarded a scholarship. There is no need to nominate.

The LeadAbility Course and LeadAbility Scholarships are generously supported by the Department of Communities (Disability Services), who share our vision to build strong and inclusive communities.

Rising Leadership Program | Construction Training Fund (CTF) Construction Sector Leaders Scholarships

The CTF supports Western Australia’s building and construction industry to meet its demand for skilled workers, while supporting the development of a modern and progressive building and construction industry.

These scholarships are aimed at mid-career leaders who are actively working in the WA construction sector, in an area the CTF supports, who wish to participate in the Rising Leadership Program in 2024.

There are two scholarships that cover the full Program fee – one for a metropolitan and one for a regional applicant. The regional scholarship also includes travel and accommodation, which will be arranged and paid for by the CTF.

Rising Leadership Program | Mt Burdett Scholarships

The Mt Burdett Rural and Regional Advancement Foundation and the Leadership WA Foundation are proud to offer emerging leaders in regional Western Australia the opportunity to further build their leadership capability, through two scholarships onto the 2024 Rising Leadership Program. Applicants can apply for either cohort.

To be eligible, participants must live and work in regional Western Australia and be passionate about using their leadership to meaningfully impact community. Click here for more information.

Signature Leadership Program | GGA CBH Growing Leaders Scholarship (2025)

The GGA CBH Growing Leaders Scholarship Program has been designed to offer members of the Western Australian grain growing industry access to leadership development with Leadership WA.

The program provides two scholarships annually for the Signature Leadership Program.

With a commitment to developing leadership for social impact and championing courageous leadership, Leadership WA believes this scholarship initiative presents a valuable opportunity to ensure the complexity of agricultural perspectives and challenges are explored and shared with the leaders of today and tomorrow.

Signature Leadership Program | Culture and the Arts Scholarship (available again in 2025 subject to confirmation)

The Culture and Arts Scholarship, funded by the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries, is aimed at supporting those working to enhance the impact of arts and culture in Western Australia.

This Scholarship provides one fully funded place on the 2024 Signature Leadership Program, a fundamental opportunity for a senior leader contributing to a more vibrant Western Australia.

Rising Leadership Program | Community Leadership Scholarship (available again in 2025 subject to confirmation)

The Community Leadership Scholarship is aimed at mid-career leaders working in a small-medium* sized not-for-profit organisation within the fields of family and domestic violence (FDV), youth justice, Aboriginal community support/ACCOs, or renewable energy, who wish to participate in the Rising Leadership Program in 2024 (March or July cohorts).

These scholarships cover the full Program fee. Please note that any travel and accommodation required will be the responsibility of the participant.
