Leadership Western Australia (May also be referred to as: Leadership WA, LWA, We, The Organisation) is an independent, not-for-profit organisation that brings together leaders from the corporate, not-for-profit and government sectors in a collaborative environment to inspire and enhance exemplary leadership via:

What personal data we collect and why we collect it.

Leadership WA only collects personal data for engagement with potential clients, ongoing membership or community groups or individuals looking to take part in the Skillsbank program. Leadership WA only collects the data that is required to perform assessments of applications and progress to further engagement. This may also include individuals connected to Skillsbank opportunities.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymised string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included as visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website. You can request to have images removed from the website by Leadership WA site Administrator.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited that other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracing your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Leadership WA only embeds information from sites that meet the Australian Privacy Policy.

Analytics, cookies and meta data.

We collect meta and demographic data from interactions with our website via Google Analytics and Facebook Pixel. We do not collect any personal or sensitive data through these services.

Google Analytics:

Google Analytics is a web service provided by Google Inc. Cookies are used to generate data on website activity and usage. The cookies, which include IP addresses, are transmitted to and stored in Google servers in the United States where they are used to compile web-use reports.

Facebook:

Facebook Pixel, Custom audiences and retargeting are services provided by Facebook Inc. these services are collated by Facebook Inc. and held on their servers. This may include cookies, IP addresses and other meta data. Facebook may share this information with third parties, where required by law, for information processing on its behalf or any other reason stated in their privacy policy that can be found at:

We use this information to re-engage with people who have been on our site previously, create new target markets of potential clients and track the efficacy of various marketing and promotional activities.

You may disable/delete cookies from your browser. If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day. 

Who we share your data with

Leadership WA does collect some data on behalf of other companies/organisations for providing scholarships to applicants. Viewing the scholarship provider’s privacy policy is recommended.

SKILLSBANK

ALUMNI
By applying for a Skillsbank opportunity you are agreeing to have the information provided by you in the application form passed on to the organisation that has posted the opportunity. Additionally, we may provide information regarding what program of Leadership WAs you completed.

ORGANISATION
As an organisation posting an opportunity, LWA will provide all non-contact information to the Alumni. This will include any documents uploaded as they may be pertinent to the decision to apply

OTHER
We do not sell your information to any third parties and do not share information for mass communication. Any information shared with partners or facilities from Leadership WA will only be done to provide a service and when considered reasonable to do so i.e. food allergies for an event. Any further sharing of data will only be done with consent.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website, we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where we send your data

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

How we protect your data

Leadership WA uses a SaaS database and mailer that is encrypted and maintains the following certificates: PCI DSS and VeraSafe Privacy Program. The SaaS provider also owns and maintains all requisite infrastructure.

All other data is stored on a secure SSL 1028bit encrypted server with limited access. All forms held on the Leadership WA site are on and automatically directed to HTTPS:// SSL pages. 

Sharing information with your employer

Attendance

If you are attending a Leadership WA program on behalf of your employer as part of your employment they may request to view your attendance record at any time.  If we are approached by your employer regarding information concerning your involvement on a program or course we will require written consent from you and will so inform your employer.

Print

If you have completed a PRINT profile with Leadership WA we may share your results with your employer if (1) you have completed the PRINT profile while attending any Leadership WA workshop, course or program on behalf of your employer or as part of your employment. Or (2) you have provided us express written consent.
